Here is a conversation between a girl of about 7-8 and a woman in her 30s that I overheard at a Vancouver starbucks:
-Mommy, where are you going next week?
-To the US honey.
-Isn't that where the bad guys are?

I think it's best to confirm their worst assumptions. :)
She was, as i recall, clutching a toy and I did entertain the idea of snatching it and bolting out of the door...
she was also residing in the most conservative and affluent neighbourhood in the whole city. also, i doubt she would have given a shit about the toy being stolen since before this event, she was ahead of me in line and conversing with the barista about how she is going to be given $40 later that evening.
Maybe she was talking about Cheney and the gang. We teach our kids in kindergarden up here about their evil ways. ;)
